When exploring courses becomes an experience
We migrated Brother Montevideo's platform from WordPress to custom development: faster, with its own identity and an interactive discovery system that reinvented how people explore its training offer.
The brief
Brother Montevideo is a creative training school with an experimental, unconventional identity. Its previous WordPress template site didn't reflect that: rigid design, predictable navigation, poor performance and static course lists that generated no engagement.
The constraint
Leave WordPress entirely and build a custom platform that's faster, visually strong and reinvents course discovery — while remaining self-manageable by the internal team without dev for every update.
What we built
Custom UX/UI design
Full redesign from scratch. Visual identity aligned to Brother's creative DNA: animations, micro-interactions and transitions that support navigation.
Interactive cards
Interactive system replacing the classic course list. Playful exploration with dynamic CMS-connected filters. Discovering a course becomes part of the experience.
Custom PHP platform
Custom build without WordPress or plugins. Tailored CMS to manage courses, cards, news and institutional content autonomously.
Integrated enrollment
Contact and enrollment forms with dynamic course selection, integrated with the database and manageable from the CMS.
From a generic, slow site to a platform with its own identity, where technology amplifies the pedagogical offer: exploring Brother's courses is part of learning.
How we did it
Analysis and discovery
Assessment of the existing site, technical pain points, business goals and architecture definition.
UX/UI design
Full redesign. Template approach abandoned. Card system conceived as an interactive experience.
Backend development
Custom PHP platform. Own CMS for courses, cards and editorial content. No WordPress or external dependencies.
Frontend + animation
Pixel-perfect implementation with micro-interactions and smooth transitions. Responsive optimized for desktop and mobile.
QA + Lanzamiento
Functional and performance testing. Lighthouse optimization and production launch.
Lighthouse · Actual site measurement (mobile) — April 28, 2026
| Metric | Score (mobile) | Assessment |
|---|---|---|
| Performance | 72 | Major improvement vs. previous WordPress |
| Accessibility | 96 | Excellent — accessible, clear navigation |
| Best Practices | 92 | Clean code without risky dependencies |
| SEO | 36 | Meta tags pending completion in CMS |
| FCP (First Contentful Paint) | 2,5 s | Very fast initial load |
| LCP (Largest Contentful Paint) | 8,0 s | Opportunity on heavy visual assets |
| TBT (Total Blocking Time) | 170 ms | Very low — excellent interactivity |
| CLS (Cumulative Layout Shift) | 1,0 | Improvement area · load animations |
Note: The low SEO score (36) reflects meta tags and structured content pending in the CMS by the client. CLS of 1.0 ties to entry animations that can be optimized in future iterations.
